
Unity Health has some of the most comprehensive and affordable primary care products on the market. To help you access benefits, we have set out some useful information below.

Remember to make use of our preferred provider network to maximise your benefits. You can find your nearest network GP, Dentist or Nurse on the Unity Health App, or our website.
Our pharmacy network includes AlphaPharm, Clicks, Dischem, Medicare, and Local Choice pharmacies.

To ensure your pathology tests are paid according to your benefits, please make use of Ampath, Pathcare or Lancet laboratories.

In case of emergency, you may go to any private hospital, but our preferred network includes the Clinix, NHN, Netcare, Life and Mediclinic hospital groups.


The Specialist Benefit is aimed at acute specialist intervention and not ongoing specialist care.
This means that the initial specialist treatment may be covered under your benefits, however follow-up treatment will need to be managed by your network General Practitioner.
The benefit is limited to R1 350 per visit, with an annual limit of R2 800 per family per year.
You will need a referral letter from a network General Practitioner containing a diagnosis, as well as the treatment that you have received, prior to being referred to a specialist. To make it easier, we have a specialist referral document that your network GP can complete. This can be accessed on the provider dashboard. To access the benefit, send this letter to riskmanagement@unityhealth.co.za. You will receive an authorisation letter to confirm that your specialist visit has been approved.
Your benefit covers all specialists that are medical doctors. Ancillary medical practitioners such as psychologists, clinical technologists, podiatrists, and dieticians are not covered under this benefit. We do not have a network of specialists, which means that you can consult with a specialist of your choice or as recommended by your GP. We will load the authorisation accordingly, and the doctor can then submit their claim directly to us if authorisation has been obtained. The possibility exist that the specialist may require upfront payment for the consultation. You can claim this back from us after your consultation.

Getting in touch with our call centre:
Our client call centre is always glad to assist with all your general queries. If an agent is unable to answer all your questions, they will escalate it to the relevant department and ensure you receive your feedback timeously. Contact 0861 366 006 and speak to one of our friendly call centre agents between 08:00 and 16:30 on weekdays and between 08:00 and 13:00 on Saturdays.
Please note that our call centre is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
Alternatively, contact the relevant department directly by sending an email to the correct department listed below or by requesting a “call-me-back” from within the Unity Health App.

Send an email to membership@unityhealth.co.za for amendments, addition of dependants, cancellations, welcome packs (including membership cards) and changes in contact details including address information.
Get in touch with our Finance department:
Send an email to finance@unityhealth.co.za for billing, premium or payment queries (D/O or EFT). Kindly use your policy number as reference when making an EFT payment.
Get in touch with our Claims department:
Send an email to claims@unityhealth.co.za for all claim queries such as submitting a new claim or following up on an existing claim. Please ensure that your membership details are visible in the email.
In case of Emergency:
In case of any emergency, please contact ER24 at 010 205 3044. You can also contact our call centre at 0861 366 006 and press “one” to be transferred to ER24. Members with the Unity Health App can contact ER24 directly via a push-to-call function.
When submitting a query via email, kindly include your policy/ID number. You will receive an email notification with a reference number. Please use this reference number when contacting us regarding your query.
